We Ran YYC!

The splendid 2015 edition of the Calgary Marathon is firmly in the books.  Between myself and the Mr. we have now completed every distance available 5k/10k/Half/Full/50k.  Hurrah!  (This gives me an excuse to play with the medals).  My favourite distance has to be the Half, it's such a beautiful route and I have time to watch the marathon/50k finishers after not to mention run the 5k as well - perfect!

This year I had the opportunity to be more involved in the event as a ForeRunner.  It's the first time I've been a race ambassador and I'm delighted it was for Calgary.  I am so impressed with how all these committed people engineer our hometown race, so much attention to detail, so much work and a STELLAR race day.  So many volunteers.  They even switched the sunshine on.  It is a wonderful thing to be a part of and I thank you for every last bit of it.

My favourite 'cool little race things' this year were the Marathon Foto pic downloads courtesy of the East Village, and the finish line food which was neatly distributed in convenient bags.  The chips were essential in Kev's 50k recovery let me tell you.  Great job all around.

When can we register for 2016?  Oh, now?!

Congratulations to everyone who was involved this year!  See you in 2016.

  1. You just reminded me that I'm yet to do the 10 or 5. Perhaps I'll copy your double for next year..

  2. It's such a great race! I have to run the 5k (doable) and the 50k (more than likely not!), then I'll have ran all the distances :)

    1. It's so cool we have the chance to do so many distances right here in our hometown race. We'll see what next year brings!
