My first run of 2016 and a really long 30k on the treadmill.
I timed this little bling earner to motivate me through my last long run before Arizona on Jan 17th. Bonus Track is Rock n Roll's first ever virtual run. My speed and hill training during the week gave me some fairly sharp shin pain so instead of heading outside and getting stranded with problems midway through I chose to go for it on the treadmill.

30k = 18.6 miles, so I started out with running 8.6 then re-set the TM to 10 miles (10 is the max it will go up to). The 8.6 was fine, then the first couple of miles out of the 10 were fine then I started thinking about how long it was taking and how long I had left to go, suck, suck, suck. This is a good time to give your brain a gel, it thinks you're tired when really you are just fine.
I like to mentally break the last 10 miles into 5 and 5 promising myself a walk break and more gel in the middle. This was a tough run, the distance crawled up so slowly. Dropping my water bottle on the belt and watching it fly off the end into the recycle bin was as entertaining as it got.
The last 2 or 3 miles were manageable and I got it done. 3 hours and 40 minutes on the TM. I'm hoping that getting through this and spending so much quality time staring at the garage wall will help my mental toughness on raceday.
Only 2 weeks until RnR Arizona and marathon #5!
The bling is in the mail.
