The beard, Another Trip, 2 'S' Words

Happy almost-the-weekend!  It's time to celebrate all that is random with the lovely Running With Spoons.

We went to see Ethan Newberry's film Where Dreams Go To Die featuring Gary Robbins and his attempts at the Barkley Marathons in 16 and 17.  Yes, he's going back next year.  If you get the chance, watch it.  You don't have to be a runner to appreciate the highs, lows, despair and sheer determination. Warning - it will inspire you.  Probably not to do Barkley though, unless you're already crazy.

Isn't Gary magnificent?

After that we went to a bar craft beer emporium with Kevin's football team and I felt extremely old.  Honest to god I couldn't hear myself think.  Is this what 42 is?

We got married twice in LV

I'm going to Vegas for the third time this year for what my mum calls 'the Elvis marathon'. It's our fourth Rock n Roll Vegas.  I love that town.  It pisses me off that some evil POS fucked with it.  Rock n Roll have designed this tech T with all proceeds going to the Las Vegas Victims Fund, I'm really proud of them on this one.  Order is placed.

It's due to snow this week and I must say I'm looking forward to a bit of snowshoeing (which we couldn't do last year as Kev broke his wrist) and also sitting around the house with the fire on.  The furry house residents love that part of winter.  It's going to snow and it's going to get cold - this is Alberta - so we all might as well enjoy ourselves.

I think about this sometimes, it doesn't have to be a big thing.  Walk away from your desk for a break, give yourself permission to not be on top of everything, get a hot drink, have a bath, wear loose pants to Red Lobster (no comment), order takeout, switch your phone off, delete IG/FB, block that irritating bitch, whatever works. Got to love Coop.

On that exact topic, an amazing thing happened last weekend.  This Stanley guy came to town and we were able to celebrate the Pens wins all over again.

And because we think we're funny:

Yup.
