DietBet Progress - Day 18

It looks like DietBet has been a much needed kick in the derriere for me.  There's nothing like the terror of being accountable online to get a person motivated!

I have lost 5lbs in 18 days and only have half a pound to go to meet my target of losing 4% of my original body weight.  Secret:  I haven't counted a single calorie.

I have been taking things one day at a time and trying to make smart decisions (big bag of Lays - NO).  I know I will eat whenever I sit in front of the TV so I don't sit in front of the TV.  I eat when I'm hungry.  If I think I'm starving after dinner I go to bed early and read a book.

Exception - I have one day off a week when I can eat whatever I want.  Usually it's Sunday and I've become aware that it really affects my mood on Monday.  But I'm not ready to let that go yet so I have a DQ Blizzard and feel like crap all the next day.

Apples, oranges and bananas are a staple for a day at work.  We have a green smoothie 3 or 4 days a week and a salad 3 days a week for lunch.  For dinner I have reduced portion size, cut out bread and white carbs and added more veggies.

Oh yes, and we have stopped buying crap.  No more chocolate digestives by the package.  We have been eating BBQ popchips on the weekend, a healthier alternative.  They still taste like something I shouldn't be allowed to eat so they tick all the boxes!
